Care sector solar — that's all we do

Most solar companies will fit panels on anything with a roof. We made a deliberate choice to focus on one sector we understand deeply: residential and nursing care. That focus is the reason our systems are designed, scheduled and documented the way care providers actually need.

Our story

Care Homes Solar grew out of a simple observation: care homes are one of the strongest cases for solar in the country, yet they were being offered the same generic commercial proposals as a warehouse or a car showroom. Those proposals missed what makes a care home different — the round-the-clock demand that makes solar so effective, and the vulnerable residents who make a thoughtful installation essential. We set out to do it properly, and we have been installing commercial solar for the care sector ever since.

Today we work with single family-run homes, regional groups and national operators, designing systems that fit each building, each demand profile and each budget. We are proud that a large share of our work comes from referrals — managers who recommend us to their peers because the process was calm, honest and disruption-free.

Our team brings together qualified solar designers, accredited electricians and project managers who have spent years working in and around occupied, regulated buildings. That combination matters: designing an efficient array is one skill, but delivering it safely inside a home full of residents, relatives and carers is another. We have learned — sometimes the hard way — what good looks like in this sector, and we bring that experience to every survey, proposal and installation we carry out.

• NICEIC / NAPIT registered electrical work, certified and notified as required.
• £5m public liability and full employer's liability insurance.
• DBS-checked installers, because they will be working in a residential care environment.
• Working-at-height, CDM and method-statement compliance on every site.
• Manufacturer-approved installers for the panels, inverters and batteries we fit.

The way we work

We will never pressure you into a system that is bigger than you need or a finance deal that does not suit you. Our proposals are sized from your real consumption data, our savings figures are honest, and we are happy to tell you when solar is not the right fit for a particular roof. During installation we plan quiet working windows around mealtimes, medication rounds and visiting hours, keep escape routes and walkways clear, and brief your staff so nobody — resident or carer — is caught off guard.

A solar system is a 25-year asset, so the relationship matters as much as the installation. Once your system is live we provide clear handover documentation, a simple guide for your maintenance team, and monitoring so you can see exactly what you are generating and saving. If a panel or inverter ever needs attention, you have one number to call and a team who already knows your building. We can schedule annual checks around your routine, advise on cleaning where it is worthwhile, and help you keep the warranty paperwork your insurer and inspectors may ask to see. As tariffs, battery options and grant schemes change, we will flag anything that could improve your return — because the homes that get the most from solar are the ones whose systems are looked after properly for the long term.
